Tailoring Skills Training
Sewing centers are gateways to dignity, independence, and transformation. For women with a passion for design and a desire to learn, yet lacking the means to afford training, these centers become a lifeline.
Here, women are not only taught a skill—they are empowered to earn, support their families, and stand on their own feet. Many who once had no opportunity have gone on to establish their own tailoring units and small shops, building stable and joyful lives.
This initiative has been especially impactful among widows, homemakers, and young girls, offering them hope where there was once uncertainty. Through this program, lives are being rebuilt, confidence restored, and futures reshaped.
When a woman is empowered, a family is strengthened—and a community is transformed.
Computer Education
We currently run four computer training centers in Tuticorin, where young women are equipped with practical, job-oriented skills—completely free of cost. Many of these girls come with limited opportunities, yet carry immense potential waiting to be unlocked.
Through dedicated and passionate training, they are equipped in MS Office, CorelDRAW, Tally, and various design tools that meet real market demands. Beyond technical skills, we nurture creativity, confidence, and a sense of purpose.
Today, many of these young women are earning—some in full-time roles, others through part-time and freelance work—contributing meaningfully to their families and stepping into a future of dignity and independence.
This is not just training—it is transformation. A journey from learning to livelihood, from uncertainty to confidence, and from dependence to empowerment.
Solar Lighting Initiative
Solar lights are not a luxury in many parts of Odisha—they are an urgent necessity. In remote hill regions where electricity is still a distant reality, families are compelled to complete their daily chores before sunset. Once darkness falls, life comes to a standstill. Children are left without the ability to study, their education quietly hindered by the absence of light. Mothers struggle to complete even the simplest tasks, and homes remain vulnerable to insects and unseen dangers in the dark.
A single solar light can transform this reality. It enables children to continue their studies, empowers women to safely finish cooking, and brings security and dignity to an entire household. It is not just a light—it is hope, opportunity, and a better future.

Jute Bag Livelihood Program
In many of the communities we serve, women possess remarkable creativity and a natural inclination toward design, yet lack access to opportunities that can turn their skills into a livelihood. Our jute bag training initiative addresses this gap by equipping them with both craftsmanship and confidence.
The process begins with understanding the raw material—eco-friendly jute fabric. Trainees learn how to measure, cut, and shape the fabric according to various bag designs. They are then guided in stitching techniques, lining, handle fixing, and finishing, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. As they progress, they are introduced to creative elements such as printing, embroidery, and decorative enhancements, enabling them to produce bags that meet current market trends.
Through consistent practice and mentorship, these women are able to create high-quality, reusable jute bags that are both sustainable and stylish. Many go on to generate income either individually or as part of small production units, supporting their families with dignity.
We provide training to make jute bags. We also undertake orders for customized products—such as takeaway gifts for weddings, return gifts for birthday parties, and other special occasions—creating further income opportunities for the women involved.
This initiative not only promotes eco-friendly alternatives to plastic but also empowers women to build a stable and self-reliant future.
Jackfruit & Jaggery Processing Initiative
In the hill regions of Odisha, we observed a striking reality—abundant natural resources like jackfruit and palm were going to waste, simply because communities were unaware of their value and potential.
With timely intervention, we began training tribal families to transform these resources into marketable products such as jaggery and jackfruit chips. What was once wasted is now becoming a steady source of income. Through this initiative, families are gaining meaningful employment, sustaining their households, and discovering dignity in their work.
By making the most of each season, small production units have been established, enabling consistent livelihood opportunities within these communities.
This effort has not gone unnoticed. The impact was recognized by the District Collector of Kandhamal, leading to the launch of similar government initiatives across the region.
What began as a simple observation has now grown into a movement—turning waste into worth, and opportunity into lasting change.
